Back to your regularly scheduled programming...

So today is the first official day of summer vacation!!! It felt so good ignoring my alarm clock at 4am this morning.  Plus its Friday and I have had a life-long love affair with Fridays so I really couldn't be any happier!!!!

I have a LONG laundry list of things I need want to do this summer.  First on the list is organizing my thematic unit materials.  Right now my materials are either in housed in plastic bins or storage crates.  This system is ok but I think I can tweak it to make it work better for my needs.  Yesterday, I purchased some book bins from Target.

They are similar in shape and size to this set from Lakeshore Learning.  The bins from Target don't come with folders or a storage rack but I think they will work for me.

I have a just a few days before the extended school year starts.  Rest and relaxation from now till then!

Talk to you guys soon...

Countdown.. Cue Beyonce... We have officially reached single digits!!!! 8 school days until summer break. Woo Hoo!! ((triple backflip))

I am excited and stressed at the same time.. I have a few more IEP meetings to attend.. Summer packets to create.. Cleaning my room.. Crazy crazy days ahead..

Once school is done I plan on taking it pretty easy. I'm pretty sure I'll be working the Extended School Year program which can be lots of fun! I like working ESY because I get to meet new kiddos and the overall experience is a lot less stressful than the regular school year. I also want to get some reading done. I've been reading this book by Joshilyn Jackson for the last 6 months (le sigh).

Every time I sit down to read more important things come up and I have to put it down. I AM going to find time to finish this book. So those are my summer plans. What do you have planned for this summer?

School Daze!!!

Hey Y'all!! Has the last few weeks of school been absolutely CUHRAZY for anyone else?  We have 13 days left and I am seriously drained.  I do apologize for slacking on blogging but I been trying to spend quality time with my loved ones whenever I get a free minute.

While I have you here...

I have been trying to figure out what materials I want to order for next year.  Believe it or not I actually HATE ordering materials.  NOT because I don't like to try new things but because no matter how much I research a product, it is ALWAYS hit or miss with me.

For next year, I definately want to order more AAC devices.  Currently I have:

Hip Step Talker - I took this out of the pouch and just use it as a two button device.  Great for YES/NO ?s, requests, & greetings.

Language Master - This is super OLD SCHOOL but I love it! Great for vocabulary building.

On the Go 7 Level Communication Builder - I used this alot during small group lessons.

I would like to have a few 1 button devices (i.e. BIG MACK).  But they can get pricey.

That's all I have on my list for right now.  I plan on using my iPad more often during my sessions next school year as well.   Please share with me some of the therapy tools you love!!

Happy June/Summer!!!
