Rain Rain Go AWAY!!!

The weather has been pretty wacky in my neck of the woods for the past few weeks.  It rained all last week and we started off today with downpours and thunder in the forecast.  Last week, I decided to take advantage of the rain and talked about the weather a little bit with my speech and language groups.

We worked on identifying size concepts by sorting different sized pieces of cotton (clouds) into tubs labeled small, medium, and large.  We also did a Rainy Day following directions craftivity from Scholastic's Follow the Directions Pocket Chart Activities.  I purchased this book from the Scholastic Ebooks site during one of their Dollar Day Sales.  It is full of great activities that target following multiple directions.

For my Language kids,  I asked them to come up with 3 things they like to do on rainy days. I gave my lower functioning kiddos choices using Boardmaker images.

For my Speechies, the glued pictures of words that contained their target sounds to their cloud.  Then I put the clouds in their Speech Binders so they could use them for homework.

Happy Tuesday Lovelies!
