I survived!!!

So the first day back from Spring Break is OVA!!!  I have to say my kiddies were pretty riled up today so I had to ease back into the swing of things.  A week off within minimal routines can make the transition back to the regular school day really torturous..

Soooo we will be starting two new themes/units (le sigh) next week... A dino unit which is part of my regular thematic unit schedule

a unit on "Tales of a 4th Grade Nothing" by Judy Blume for my 3rd Grade intervention students!!!!

I am so excited to be introducing this book to my kiddos.  This unit will focus mainly on oral comprehension and story retelling.   I will be using Story Grammar Marker and other retelling tools to facilitate understanding with my Lovelies.

I wanted to share with you guys a tool I use to gather my thoughts when I am planning for a new theme/unit.  When it comes to planning I am very much a pen to paper kinda girl. So this year, I started using this document.  It's simple / no frills and I like having everything in one place instead of 100s of post-its on my desk, in my planner, in my data binder, in my handbag, EVERYWHERE.  Feel free to use it if you find it useful.

Work in progress..
